Tap: A walk at the Monte Caslano can be combined well with an attendance in the Schoko country museum chocolate herstellerin of the Chacolat Alprose SA and a fine lunch in one of the restaurants which are because of the bank way.
Of the Piazza Lago with the ship landing place we walk
past to the Osteria del Batello and take after the Osteria first
Straes left, the via Meriggi, which follows the bank of the lake.
Unfortunately the narrow asphalted road does not run directly
the bank along. Small terraces with seats invite however again
and again to staying and release the view of the hills on the other
sea-side and the mountains in the hinterland mark CAN clay/tone.
At different houses neuern date the boat club Sassalto is
finally reached past, where the well accessible bank moving way begins
by the forest.
Concreted stairs overcome first, few elevator meters and lead to a lookout point with a very beautiful view across the lake on the old village part of Caslano with the mountain range of the Monte Lema (picture left), behind it.
Together with the Monte San Salvatore and the Monte San Giorgio the Monte Caslano only in the earth-history Middle Ages developed. Due to the various vegetation with partly very rare Planzen the whole area of the Monte Caslano was placed under nature protection. The region in which Caslano with its mountain, which by the way a height of 526 meters called over sea reached (middle sea-height of 271 meters over sea), mark CAN clay/tone. The name deduces itself from Magli (hammer hammerschmiede) and CAN clay/tone (area). In earlier times in the area found ores with water-claimant hammer hammerschmieden were processed, which registered the name mark CAN clay/tone to this region. In Aranno can 1989 a again developed identical hammer hammerschmiede be visited. For the easy migrations at the Monte Caslano are recommended firm of sport or moving shoes with good treaded soles. City shoes are absolutely unsuitable! Orbiting the Sassalto on the bank way lasts zirka 1:10 hours (cosy Spaziergaengertempo with photo stops).

Car, motorcycle. For the longer Parkieren the parking lot at the end of the via gulf, chargeable from 07:00 o'clock to 19:00 o'clock, is suitable. Per hour a modest fee of CHF 0,50 is to be paid. The parking lots which are in the village are provided all with one zeitlimite for short parks. Course. Caslano is very well opened with the local railway ferrousvia Lugano Ponte Tresa (FLP) starting from Lugano. The old village center can be achieved by the stop however only to foot (zirka 1 km). Ship. Unfortunately Caslano with the ship can be reached only badly, since the navigation company does not maintain regular transport service toward Ponte Tresa (Konkurenz by the substantially faster course). Daily only two ships in Caslano put on. The landing place is the ideal starting point for walks at the Monte Caslano.
